Rushing Years

Posted on November 9, 2019November 10, 2019 by Rosie Lewis

Sing, sing, sing and a one, two, three
The rolling dance of the crucifix
Spinning us madly through simpler times.

I want to join the childish laughter
The exhilarating rush
Of spinning so fast and with abandon.

I weep for those dizzy footsteps

That stagger away from the cross, only to sit lost on the grass,

while others twirl with Christ.
