This is Calamine Lotion for the soul. There’s not one of us that can’t identify with some aspect of “Much afraid”. A timid creature, living less than half a life in the fields for the Shepherd. A bleak future ahead that there seems little courage left to change.
Then one day there’s an invitation from the Shepherd
Much Afraid starts a journey to the high places, leaving the valley of Humiliation behind. It is written as an Allegory but with the right heart I would go so far as to say its an Exegesis of the spiritual life, with so much of the journey totally relatable to our own transformation under the Shepherds gaze.
A book I come back to time and time again, especially when God feels distant and the road rough. A truly inspired, but easy going read.
